For those of you looking for a personal trainer, coach, and just all around great person to have in your corner, then you need to connect with Laura. I've had a bad experience in the past with training and trying to learn how to body build, build strength, and just grow in general. Laura is very thorough in her knowledge of fitness, nutrition, and the science behind anatomy and physiology (which is probably my favorite part, since I am a science nerd). I've always been super skinny and not naturally strong. Laura has helped me to build my strength, size and confidence in my self. I feel more confident in navigating training on my own now, to a certain extent, and I always know that if I have a question, Laura will give me an answer, or she will research it. Seriously, if you are on the fence about investing in a personal trainer, then look no further.- Chris J.
Laura Su is one of the only trainers I have ever referred people to, both from a personal trainer capacity, and a physical therapist assistant capacity. What that means to me is she is someone who will pick up where physical therapy left off, without aggressively progressing or drastically regressing. That also means that she will focus on the right things in the personal training capacity such as health, good nutrition advice, vs getting caught up with an unhealthy body image emphasis. Laura is young in age but she is experienced. She has been working for a couple years, but she puts in the work! She reads and reads, and trains over 40 hours each week. I really can't say enough good things about her. If you give Laura a shot and actually take her advice you won't regret it. You will be doing exercises that are well researched, vs getting caught up on what looks cool on Instagram. You will also be encouraged to focus on health which is so important to a long sustainable lifestyle instead of crushing you for a few weeks and leaving you feel worse than you were. This is very common in the fitness industry. There are a lot of horrible trainers out there. I don't need to point out who. It's just important to know when you have a good one vs a bad one. Bad one's don't read, they don't keep up to date on research, they don't care about long term, they only focus on immediate results and what looks cool. Don't do that to yourself, pick a good one like Laura Su. On a personal note, Laura is someone who has helped me with both nutrition and exercises. I am lucky because I have a large support group of fitness professionals, but I consider Laura to be one of the best one's.Ackerly S
I've had quite a few personal trainers at this point in my 10+ year long fitness journey. But as a woman with chronic health issues (PCOS, PMDD, endometriosis, Hashimotos, and hypothyroidism - ones that so many women face), I'd consistently find my body at odds with the approach of trainers who didn't understand these types of illnesses or didn't want to spend the time to. I often felt really lonely and discouraged on my journey, and found Laura through a friend who said she has an empathetic and encouraging trainer. Laura takes a science and evidence-based approach to her training that I've never seen before - I remember one session she was SUPER excited to tell me about a large book on women's hormones she had purchased and couldn't wait to read. This is the first time in my fitness journey that I've felt inspired, heard, understood, motivated, and happy all at the same time - AND have not left with an injury! Laura is so thoughtful about working with injuries and just LISTENING to what her clients need instead of running through the same canned HIIT routine for every client she sees. I can honestly say that after working with Laura for a few months, fitness no longer seems like something only people without chronic illness can pursue. My muscle mass is up, my body size is down, my nutrition supports my health, I have a fully functioning for the first time in my life, and I no longer have an unhealthy view of food. I cannot recommend her enough!!!Ashley P
I have been training with Laura for 9 months/ 2x a week and I hope it doesn’t stop anytime soon. She has helped me achieve the goals I came to her with and more! It is evident that Laura has put in the time and work to become a knowledgeable, well rounded and patient :) trainer. She takes the time to understand what you want and need out of personal training and does a great job of checking in for potential adjustments. I have not had a session yet where Laura hasn’t kept me motivated to keep pushing so that I can continue to be stronger. She also does a great job of mixing things up and keeping things fun! I feel very lucky that I get to work with Laura and I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to live a healthy and strong life.Kaylen B
I highly recommend Laura for personal training, building strength after completing physical therapy, and a beginner friendly approach to building a workout routine! I have been working out with Laura for 6 months. I started personal training with her after completing some physical therapy, and I wanted to continue to build my strength in hopes of reducing my daily pain. Of course results may vary, but I have had a great reduction in pain from daily to weekly to a rare occurrence over the months. I truly believe working out and focusing on building strength in my weak areas was a big contributor to my progress. She pushes me harder than I would myself, and has really challenging, fun workouts. I meet with her once a week in a small weight training gym and do 2-3 at home workouts that she plans. I had been dealing with consistent shoulder/ trap pain and a weak lower back that often caused pain after heavy lifting. I think Laura was a perfect fit for my goals, and proved herself to be very knowledgeable about what workouts were needed for my individual case. She taught me how to get comfortable with weight training, and I now feel confident doing barbell workouts without injuring myself. She’s educational about correct form, which was something I was really looking for. When I feel pain after a certain exercise she always takes that feedback into account for the next workout. If you want a highly educated and helpful trainer Laura Su is the way to go!Marina E
I highly recommend Laura for anyone interested in learning how to lift heavier weights. Through working with her, I gained the confidence to do compound lifts like squats and deadlifts on my own. Laura is knowledgeable, attentive, friendly, and great at explaining how to adjust or improve your movement patterns. If you are considering Laura, her website and Instagram are an accurate representation of her approach to fitness and training— looking through these is how I made my decision!Marisa C
Working with Laura was the best decision I ever made. I lived with lower back and shoulder pain for 6+ years caused by an injury from a car accident. My movement was restricted by pain. Working with physical therapists and other professionals helped temporarily alleviate the pain, but I couldn’t fully get past it. She was the first professional who was able to help me overcome the pain and start to build muscle. In three months, I was able to deadlift 150 lbs. when I first started I could barely squat. She’s really passionate about helping her clients and meeting them at their level. She makes training a comfortable and safe environment. I couldn’t recommend working with her enough!Amanda O
